Dynamics of an Inverted Pendulum with Delayed Feedback Control
We consider an experimental system consisting of a pendulum, which is free to rotate 360 degrees, attached to a cart. The cart can move in one dimension. We describe a model for this system and use it to design a feedback control law that stabilizes the pendulum in the upright position. We then introduce a time delay into the feedback and prove that for values of the delay below a critical dela...
متن کاملEnergy control of a pendulum with quantized feedback
The problem of controlling a nonlinear system to an invariant manifold using quantized state feedback is considered by the example of controlling the pendulum’s energy. A feedback control law based on the speed gradient algorithm is chosen. The main result consisting in precisely characterizing allowed quantization error bounds and resulting energy deviation bounds is presented.
متن کاملa comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection
supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Background: Functional electrical stimulation (FES) is the most commonly used system for restoring functions after spinal cord injury (SCI). Objective: In this study we investigated feedback PID and feedforward-feedback P-PID controllers for regulating the elbow joint angle. Methods: The controllers were tuned based on a nonlinear muculoskeletal model containing two links, one joint with one de...
متن کاملStructural learning in feedforward and feedback control.
For smooth and efficient motor control, the brain needs to make fast corrections during the movement to resist possible perturbations. It also needs to adapt subsequent movements to improve future performance. It is important that both feedback corrections and feedforward adaptation need to be made based on noisy and often ambiguous sensory data. Therefore, the initial response of the motor sys...
